MSI Colloquium 2018, Title of the talk: Hopf algebras and 3D TQFTs, Australian National University, Australia, October 31, 2018

Abstract: In this talk, I will define a notion of Topological Quantum Field Theory (TQFT), which is an important tool in the construction of topological invariants. I will show that in dimension 2, TQFTs are in 1:1 correspondence with Frobenius algebras, and in dimension 3, any finite dimensional ribbon Hopf algebra defines a TQFT.
