Ascona 2012

Trends in Coding Theory
October 28 - November 2, 2012

Coding theory is relevant for a variety of industrial research fields. Graph-based codes are, e.g., relevant for the design of wireless communication systems, or for manufacturing hard disks. The conference will concentrate on the theory and applications of coding theory, with an emphasis on interactions with other disciplines, touching on topics such as algorithms and complexity, networks, cryptography, algebraic techniques.

The conference is organized by Elisa Gorla, Universität Basel, Amin Shokrollahi, EPFL, and Joachim Rosenthal, Universität Zürich.

The conference will take place at the conference center Centro Stefano Franscini at Monte Verità in Ascona.
