Data collection

Your personal data such as first name, last name, gender, email or address from your application and all uploaded documents will be collected and processed by the University of Zurich exclusively for the implementation of the appointment procedure. Only authorized persons (committee members, experts and reviewers, responsible assistants to the dean, members of the appropriate boards of the university) will have access to the information of your application. These persons are bound to adhere to confidentiality obligations.

When completing the following forms your data will be stored. For reasons of traceability, this applies even if the application process is interrupted.

Furthermore, online data such as IP address, browser version and date and time of access are recorded. These data are stored in log files for the purpose of traceability.

Upon completion of the procedure, your data will be retained for further six months and then deleted, as long as no other ordinance stipulates longer retention periods.

Your anonymized data can be processed for statistical purposes.

Data transfer

All traffic is encrypted. The servers for data storage are owned and managed by the University of Zurich and are located in Switzerland. Data processing takes into account all necessary measures to ensure data security according to the current state of the art.

Delete or view data

Please send request to view, correct or delete your data to support(at)math.uzh.ch. After deletion, the data remains in the backups for another three months before it is finally deleted. Data exports do not provide any insight to the evaluation or assessment of your application.
